Artist & Educator

My Practice

I grew up on a small farm in Indiana, where my dad taught me the basics of woodworking. Shaping raw material into something useful, something that lasts. That early connection to making continues to shape my practice and my teaching.

As an artist, I explore the fragile intersections of protection, decay, and memory. How time alters the spaces and objects that once offered comfort. Using ink, clay, wood, and printmaking, I create pieces that reflect both endurance and erosion, often blurring the line between human and natural forms.

Each piece I create is a meditation on what we keep, what fades, and how beauty can still live within the process of loss.

As an educator, I try to provide a space for my students with the same sense of curiosity and discovery. A space for them to tell their stories.
